The Fourth Church Children’s Center is a full-day care facility that serves fifty children from infancy through age five.

B ecause we mix different age groups, older children have opportunities to be role models, and younger children can delight in learning from the older ones. Parent interaction is also an important component of our program. Our parents have many opportunities to establish lasting friendships with the other Center families. In March, we celebrate St. Patrick’s Day with a family breakfast—complete with green eggs and ham!—and in June we have a family barbeque in the church courtyard. September brings our family potluck birthday celebration (of course we have a special birthday cake!), and in December families come together to make holiday decorations while enjoying each other’s company and holiday cookies.

Located in Westminster House, the program provides childcare for working parents with children from six weeks to five years old. Twelve trained professionals from Bright Horizons Childcare create an environment of play, home, and education to nurture young children during the day. The Children's Center is motivated by our Christian commitment to child, family, and community. We offer a safe, nurturing environment that affirms values of caring, sharing, justice, and forgiveness. We provide an environment that encourages children to have successful experiences, to develop a healthy self-concept, to develop positive self-esteem, and to develop interests at their own pace and according to their individual needs. We believe in learning by doing. We believe that play is children’s work.
