The Center for Life and Learning
The CLL is a senior learning community founded on a commitment to intellectual and creative challenge. Our members take advantage of daily opportunities to explore new interests, strengthen friendships, and continue to shape their lives and communities. The CLL offers a wide variety of social, educational, cultural, and physical activities for more than 250 men and women 60 years and more.
The Center for Life and Learning is temporarily located on the 19th floor of the 737 building (the Olympia Centre), which is on Chicago Avenue, just east of Michigan Avenue and Walgreens. We will be at this location until the new building at Fourth Church is completed sometime in fall 2012. Our mailing address and phone numbers remain the same.
We hope you’ll browse the information available here and learn more about us. Interested individuals are invited to pick up a guest pass at the front desk and sample a class. Drop by or call us for details. We look forward to talking with you!

Our Members
CLL participants come from across Chicago, from Hyde Park to Edgewater. They are men and women who seek out new challenges and relationships in a community of peers. A variety of professional, educational, and cultural backgrounds are represented, creating a rich and dynamic flow of ideas. Each individual participates as much as their time and interest allow. Everyone 60 years and more are welcome to attend.
Our Location
There is much construction work going on at Fourth Church, as Project Second Century is underway. The result will be a five-story facility that will house new classrooms, an additional dining room, a new chapel, and more. During construction, a temporary off-site location houses the Center for Life and Learning along with several church staff.
This offsite location is the 737 building (Olympia Centre), which is on Chicago Avenue, just east of North Michigan Avenue (and the Walgreens on that corner). Look for a revolving door into the spacious lobby. We’re on the 19th floor; look for the CLL signs when you exit the elevator. During construction, most CLL classes and programs will be held at the 737 building. We strongly recommend you confirm event locations and excursion departure points when you make your reservation.

Throughout the transition, the CLL mailing address and phone numbers will remain the same.
If you have any questions or concerns, please be in touch with Patty Jenkins at 312.981.3385.
