Michigan Avenue
New Facility
$30,000,000
A new facility will celebrate and support our flourishing
programs, allowing us to share our gifts and God’s
grace with our world, city, and congregational community.
New space and renovations will create exciting and nurturing
areas that are full of light, easy to navigate, and comfortable.
Renovated Parish Building
$10,000,000
The Parish House and Manse will be given new life by way
of a major interior renovation. Connections on all three
levels between these two buildings will significantly
improve traffic flow, open sightlines, and enhance communication
opportunities. Newly created spaces will function effectively
to support our programs of fellowship, education, and
mission.
Second Chapel
$7,000,000 (Joint naming with Blair name)
New intimate and inspirational worship space will facilitate
our expanding offerings of traditional and alternative
worship, weddings, and Children’s Chapel. The flexible
space, seating up to 300 will allow participants to experience
programs in meaningful and thoughtful surroundings.
Hub
$5,000,000 (Joint naming with Anderson Hall)
The Hub will serve as the crossroads of the church, providing
a spacious and inspiring place to find, and celebrate
community. Adjacent to Anderson Hall, this large vaulted
space of 3,800 square feet will open the interior of the
building to light – connecting worship with fellowship:
education with celebration; and congregation to mission.
Welcome Center
$3,000,000
Creation of a Manse entrance on Michigan Avenue will gracefully
invite visitors in to a new Welcome Center and bookstore.
Located on a highly visible and well-traveled corner,
this refuge and center of resources will reinforce our
devotion to the city, our care for a world community,
and our desire to share God’s gifts with all.
Wellness Center
$1,500,000 to 2,000,000 (Joint naming with Replogle Center)
Continuing a revered tradition of professional counseling,
a new Wellness Center will further our ministry of pastoral
health care with expanded resources. A quiet, private,
and separate entrance will provide confidentiality and
usher clients to dignified waiting areas and counseling
rooms.
Gallery Spaces (sections)
$1,000,000
Fourth Church’s love, enthusiasm, and support of
the arts will be highly visible and celebrated in gallery
areas located in the Hub and renovated spaces. The elegant
settings for exhibits will provide great visual illustrations
of what God’s gifts enable us to imagine.
Renovated Dining Room
$500,000
The creation of a lovely and comfortable room through
the renovation of our existing dining facility will enhance
our mission of community and congregational care. Our
new space will enable us to facilitate an important need
and desire for hospitality and fellowship.
Exterior Lighting of Façade
$500,000
Reverent and serene lighting will enhance and articulate
the architectural beauty of the exterior of our Sanctuary
and Garth – providing a beacon to those who seek
a haven and anchor in an ever-changing and challenging
world.
Renovated
Sanctuary Pews
$450,000 to $775,000
The wooden pews, a wonderful element of our sanctuary’s
history, will be renovated, a testament to our respect
and reverence for tradition, as we move with anticipation
into our future.
Restoration of Stained Glass Windows
$625,000
Enveloping our sanctuary with scripture and intricate
designs, the stained glass windows are our most cherished
pieces of art. Gravely needed restoration will restore
and preserve this heritage of colorful detail and light,
and continue to inspire our hearts, minds and souls.
Renovated and Enhanced Sound System
$200,000
Renovation of the sanctuary sound system will allow for
precise and enhanced amplification so that all may share
in Fourth Church’s great tradition of renowned preaching,
thought provoking speakers, and acclaimed music presented
in God’s name.
Classrooms
$150,000
24 new classrooms, equipped to support technological needs,
and flexible to accommodate diverse programmatic requirements
such as academy classes, children’s activities,
dining, and art instruction, will allow us to expand our
fellowship and educational ministries.
Chicago
Avenue
Entire Building
$10,000,000 (for a single naming opportunity)
$5,000,000 (for a shared opportunity)
This new community center will be an important gathering
place for the residents of the surrounding and evolving
mixed-income neighborhood. Inviting, engaging, and accessible,
it will be located on Chicago Avenue, less than a mile
from Fourth Church. A new, stand-alone, 24,000 square-foot
building will be a testimony to our continued commitment
to the residents of a community that we have served for
over 25 years. It will be a safe, welcoming, and communal
place providing learning and recreational opportunities
and experiences otherwise not yet available.
Gymnasium
$3,000,000
A high school regulation-size gym and the resulting recreational
ministries will allow us to broaden our reach and offerings
to the community and congregational children, youth, adults,
and families. The gym will be equipped with bleachers
and locker rooms, as well as a performance stage, providing
a venue for new activity driven and team programs.
Performance Space
$3,000,000
New performance space, a dual function of the gym, will
provide center stage for the creative energies of the
neighborhood’s children and adults. Flexibility
will also lend the space to community and congregational
worship services, and liturgical drama.
Welcome Center and Hub
$3,000,000
Creating a visual connection thread, the Chicago facility
will emulate Fourth Church by having its own Hub and Welcoming
Center. The community crossroads concept, as well as an
inviting entry will clearly reflect the overall mission
of outreach to the surrounding neighborhood.
Dining Room
$500,000
Kid’s Café will be able to expand significantly
its hospitality to the tutoring children with a new full-service
kitchen and a 200-capacity dining room, embodying our
mission to nurture body and mind.
Classrooms
$150,000
Classrooms, equipped to support technological needs, and
designed to accommodate diverse programs such as job training,
children and adult tutoring, and art instruction, will
provide expanded opportunities for community and congregational
education.
