Dear Friends:

For 132 years Fourth Presbyterian Church has been a beacon of light and hope, ministering to the needs of its congregation and the community at large in the name of Jesus Christ. In recent years we have been blessed by unprecedented growth, both in numbers and in mission activities. Now we face a critical need for additional space and updated facilities to continue to serve our church family and those around us.

Project Light – the inspirational vision that has grown out of our long range plan-ning process which began in 1998 and was endorsed by the congregation in 2002 – outlines what we must do today to secure our future, to ensure that our incredible ministry and mission efforts will continue to grow and thrive for a world increasingly in need of God’s love in action.

The bold and faithful vision of Project Light will become a reality through “A Light in the City: Sharing God’s Grace,” the Capital Campaign for Fourth Presbyterian Church. This promises to be the most important chapter of all the chapters in the history of this church.

“Sharing God’s Grace” is our opportunity to create and leave behind an institution like none other anywhere, faithfully engaged in the city, a true light in the community and in the lives of literally thousands of people.

This capital campaign calls us to joyfully follow the examples set by so many visionary leaders of this church over the years, and to make the commitments and sacri€ces necessary to provide a strong and faithful Fourth Presbyterian Church for generations
to come.

We are blessed and inspired by the generous faith and commitment of the generations before us. Together we can make this Project Light vision a new and wonderful reality. Please join us in Sharing God’s Grace, a bold and joyous journey into the future.

A Light in the City: Sharing God’s Grace, the Capital Campaign for Fourth Presbyterian Church is our response and our responsibility to God’s call for a faithful future.

Now it is our time; we must follow in the footsteps of this church’s bold leaders and take action to ensure that our vision becomes reality. We must act as responsible stewards
of all the gifts and precious resources God has given to Fourth Presbyterian Church.

“Sharing God’s Grace” calls us to give in response to a God who has continuously and benevolently blessed us. This Campaign is an opportunity to bear witness to all the good God can accomplish, and it is a way to express our faith at its most profound level.

As Fourth Church Pastor John Timothy Stone advised his congregation in 1909,
“Expect great things from God. Attempt great things for God.”

Please prayerfully consider your commitment, and join us in Sharing God’s Grace.
