The west window in the Fourth Church Sanctuary was designed by Charles J. Connick in a Gothic style of very thick pieces of stained glass—intentionally subdued but deep in color. A Boston artist, Connick studied extensively in Europe in order to master medieval Gothic glass artistry. When he returned to the United States, he worked closely with architect Ralph Adams Cram on numerous religious buildings, including Fourth Presbyterian Church. (For more information about Charles J. Connick and the windows he created, visit www.cjconnick.org.)
