Justice Journey
   Saturday, July 11–Sunday, July 19

Racial tensions that have erupted in the last year within the United States are a reminder that the long work of racial reconciliation in the country is far from over, even in our own city of Chicago. On this “Justice Journey” trip, high school students from the Chicago Lights Tutoring program and Fourth Church youth will look for God’s way forward amidst these deeply troubling issues through study, experience, and service.

Our journey will take us through Ferguson, Missouri; Memphis, Tennessee; Selma and Birmingham, Alabama; and Atlanta, Georgia. We will visit important sites in the struggle for African American Civil Rights, including the Edmund Pettus Bridge, 16th Street Baptist Church, the Lorraine Motel, Kelly Ingram Park, and more.

Students and their leaders will seek to reconcile our faith with the events of the past and present in a broken world.
