Opportunities to Serve
There are a variety of ways to serve with the afternoon service. We invite you to consider taking part in one or more of these roles.

As Reformed Christians, we believe that the responsibility to lead worship is shared between clergy and lay folk! At the afternoon srevice, Lay Liturgists lead the congregation in worship in a variety of ways throughout the year. Sometimes Lay Liturgists lead the congregation in a responsive reading or read scripture. Lay Liturgists often serve Communion.
Hospitality is a Christian commitment to the God who commissions us to welcome the stranger because we were once strangers ourselves. At Fourth Church our open doors reflect God’s commission found in Revelation 3:8: “I have set before you an open door, which no one is able to shut.”
Greeters at the afternoon service are ministers of hospitality who seat worshipers, receive the offering, and assist newcomers in finding their way. Greeters make a commitment of serving once a month.
