Today’s Scripture Reading
2 Corinthians 5:14–17

For the love of Christ urges us on, because we are convinced that one has died for all; therefore all have died. And he died for all, so that those who live might live no longer for themselves, but for him who died and was raised for them.

From now on, therefore, we regard no one from a human point of view; even though we once knew Christ from a human point of view, we know him no longer in that way. So if anyone is in Christ, there is a new creation: everything old has passed away; see, everything has become new! (NRSV)

Reflection
This is the good news that I need to hear most often — to remember that we are all made new in Christ, that we live for him, and that “the love of Christ urges us on.” I admit it’s so easy for me to regard others from a human point of view, but that doesn’t benefit anyone.

I wonder how might I gently remind myself of this good news in my daily life, to show the love of Christ to others? How can I make this a part of a daily meditation? While I may not have the answers to these questions right away, I am thankful for this push to consider them.

Prayer
Dear God, may the psalmist’s words suffice for my prayer today: Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable to you, O Lord, my rock and my redeemer. Amen.
